Raft Safety

Several times through the summer, Commonwealth's Social Committee will organize a raft night.  Here are some guidelines that will make raft night safe and fun.

  1. Make sure the raft is properly inflated
  2. Don't overload the raft
  3. Enter the raft from the water.  Do not enter the raft from the side of the pool.
  4. Lay on the raft.  Do not stand on the raft.
  5. Keep the raft in the shallow end if your child is not a strong swimmer.
  6. Do not bring oars, paddles, or anything hard into the pool.
  7. Don't go under the rafts.
  8. Most importantly, listen to the lifeguards.
