July 11 - A very busy week

Our swimmer of the week this past week was Greta Staton. She comes to practice every day and works hard. When Coach Stuart gives her a set in practice, she asks to make it harder! Congratulations Greta!

Such a close meet Saturday! Tough loss, but we are proud of all our Cudas for trying their best! You can see pictures taken by Jim as well as a few  from practice last week at:

Here is the preview of the week ahead:

If you are NOT available Wed. night for relay carnival, please make sure you write in the coach’s binder right now!

Monday – FAST meet at Home with Lakeview. We will need all hands on deck to start setting up the pool around 4pm. Our swimmers will start warm-ups at 5:00pm. Meet will start promptly at 6pm.

Tuesdayregular practice. Please make sure you write in the coach’s binder if you will not be here for Saturday’s meet!

Wednesday – Find out if and what your child is swimming at Divisional relay carnival during practice.  It will also be emailed out. The relay carnival is at Parliament and starts at 6:30.  It is a really fun meet to watch.  Be at the pool by 5:30 for warm-ups.

The directions to Parliament (8510 Parliament Drive, Springfield, VA 22151-1509) from Commonwealth:  Follow Commonwealth to Guinea, Make a right on Braddock Rd., turn right on Southampton Dr. (in King’s Park), and then left on Parliament Dr.  The pool is on the left.  There is swimmer drop off at the driveway, but you need to park on the street.  On Parliament Dr., as you are going to the pool you may park on the right side of the street, but not on the left.  Make sure you leave enough space around driveways.  You may also park at Kings Park Elementary which is a block away and then take a path by the playground to get to Parliament Dr.

ThursdayNO PRACTICE! King’s Dominion Trip. See the attached flyer on how to order your tickets.  It should be a great time!  Meet in the back parking lot at 8:30 if you want to caravan down!  We will email what people are swimming for the Sat. meet.

Friday – regular practice and potluck (Chili cook-off, we believe).  We have make-up spirit activities for the 9/10 and 11/12 year old group. The 13/14 year olds will also have theirs. Let us know if you are willing to organize the 13/14 activity. Last year mini-golf was a big hit.

Set up for Saturday’s meet against Hayfield Farm will begin around 8:15pm!

If you are going to help Sat. morning, please be at the pool at 7:30am. Remember the theme is “Harry Potter” for Saturday’s meet. Thanks!

Have a great week!
